First off, select 'Format' then 'Word Wrap' if not already enabled

Star Trek Hidden Evil ? 1999
Ripped with PowerIso4

Read Completely!!!

Install notes:

1. Burn or mount with daemon tools or your favorite drive emulator that can open .cue or .bin files. I recommend daemon tools!!!!

2. Install game as directed, or choose your own install directory.

3. Copy the cracked ?HiddenEvil.exe? file from "crack" folder located in this download to ...install directoryStar Trek - Hidden EvilBin and replace original "HiddenEvil.exe" file.

4. Alternately, you can use the "sthe10.exe" file cracker app supplied with this download. Again, copy "sthe10.exe" to the ...install directoryStar Trek - Hidden EvilBin folder, and run "sthe10.exe", it will then prompt you to crack the "HiddenEvil.exe" file.
***NOTE*** If it says it cannot crack the file, right click on "HiddenEvil.exe" and select "properties". Be sure that the "Read Only" function is disabled. Then try again. Save yourself the trouble and just copy the crack supplied.

5. IMPORTANT!! This is an old game and may not run on some systems running winXP or Vista. I had the same problem. You MUST, once again open ...install directoryStar Trek - Hidden EvilBin and right click on the "HiddenEvil.exe" file. Select "properties", compatibility tab, and run in win95, or win98ME mode, and I would recommend selecting the "run in 640X480" mode as well. May solve other issues with old software like this. The graphics are 640X480 anyways. Unless you?re using win95/98/ME, always select ?Software? display option when you start the game. If you run into issues or crashes after taking these steps, play with the compatibility modes and try disabling the other features and using both 95 and 98ME modes. Don't use 256 Color mode. I use Vista with an AMD FX60 dual core, Asus board, and 8800GTS video card with no problems using the basic settings described. No promises though.

Keybinds are unchangeable and unlisted, so here they are as I know them, may be more:

WASD = up left down right
QE = strafe left right
Space= use/fire
Enter= sometimes also a use function, stupid?
Tab= inventory, in here selecting items is ENTER not SHIFT
Shift= run
Number keys 1-9, NOT-NumberPad= quick select for Phaser, Tricorder, nerve pinch, hypo, communicator, and some found items

There is NO MOUSE function in this game? lame?

If you really enjoy old Star Trek games, then Star Trek: A Final Unity is a must. It's an even older, point and click action/adventure made by Trilobyte in 1995, and must run in dosbox and will work on almost ANY system with dosbox. Considered by most Trekkies to be the best Star Trek game of all time. There is a torrent for it as well, just search the name ator www.isohunt.com

GOOD LUCK!! And enjoy this rare Trek.

Ignore the first line of text. It was meant to be in the ReadMe only for the Noobs. Sorry, it is however my first and only Torrent. Enjoy! Check the readme file for sure because there were some errors in transferring the test to this page from the readme.
Well mrpresident2002 you have just made my day, I had this game years ago when it first came out, but I had lost my copy. I've searched the torrent sites quite a few times and had no luck finding it.
well thanks a lot hope it comes down fast
You're are most welcome longdog. I myself was searching for this for maybe a year, but couldn't find it ANYWHERE. I had the disc at one point but it was long lost, and it just happened to turn up today. I figured there would be others looking around for something like this, and for all the hundreds of torrents I've downloaded, I figure I would share something back that some peeps would really like to have and would otherwise never find it again. I will seed for at least 2 weeks. I don't have a great upload bandwidth, but it's decent. To all please share back at least what you take. Enjoy!
Thanks, mrpresident2002
Hi there again mrpresident2002 just thought i would let you know that your game came down in no time at all. I followed your instructions to the letter and I am now playing the game, you were dead right when you mentioned compatibility problems, and it was a right mess about , but I got it sorted in the end. Any way thanks again for the game.
Longdog, I'm happy to hear you got it working well. It's a pain sometimes to get old games to like this to work. Funny thing is, I tried this on an older xp system and even with the compatibility modes set and an old dx8 shader 1.0 card, it still wouldn't work. Goes to show ya. Check my other torrent, I have Deep Space 9 The Fallen with all expansions and patches. Pretty sure you would like that too if you don't already have it. It's the most complete copy you can find on the torrent sites. And thanks for the appreciation! Lata.
mrpresident2002 plz seed dsn the fallen 3 of us have been stuck at 93% for awhile
thx man i never did get a chance to play this one awesome now i will !
It's been a while since I've been able to babysit my torrentz, I checked a couple weeks ago and this one was doing well, then I check today and it's dropped off the map.

I'll re-seed whenever my comp is online. A couple have also asked about Starfleet Command III, and as I've found there is no torrent of it that exists, nor a freeware site that carries it. I happen to have a burned copy of it from years back in an oldddddd dusty CD book. I'll dig it out and upload it to see if anyone bites. I have a few good ol Trek games, but only the one's really worth playing. I'll be around the answer Q's so please ask.

There were a couple I missed through the years; Starfleet Academy-x and Star Trek Kingon are a couple examples, though I'm no sure if they suck or not. Please comment.
One other thing I forgot to mention a long time ago. Hidden Evil requires Quicktime 4 and asks you to install it. Even an ancient version of quicktime will still operate on a vista or xp system without a problem. Not sure if the game will still work with newer versions of quicktime or not, but I'll let you do your own experiments as I have no need for modern quicktime software.
wow thank u!! i hope this finishes seeding!! i just found ST:A Final Unity, and DS9:The Fallen and LOVED them. cant wait to play this one...

too bad no one has DS9:Harbinger up- I'd love to play that one, or ST:Borg and ST:Klingon interactive movies too.
damn. wont work on windows 7 :( says something about it needing to be a 64bit version. I tried all the diff compatibility modes. I got another hd though, probably going to format it and install an old xp 32bit on that one to run older aps. heh. \

i dont understand why they even bother putting these supposed *compatibility modes* in newer windows when they never work. Anyone get this working on w7? Maybe its cus i have the 64bit ver..
inkflikkt:

Yes it is because you're using the 64 bit version of win7. I have the 32bit version win7 ult and they still work for me. I've used vista32 ult, and xp32 pro and every time worked for me, regardless of the video card I'm using. From a 7900gt-8800gts, gtx260, and now gtx285 and still works just the same. I've heard a couple people mention in other forums getting these old Star Trek games to work in 64bit versions of windows, but most others claim it's next to impossible to run these on win 64bit anything. Download a 32 bit version of XP or Vista and run dual boot to play older games with. There are still a couple older pc games I have to use XP with, and my system is actually a Tri boot system. I have xp, vista, and win7 to choose from. Although 98 percent I use win7, maybe that's because they got most of it right finally. Let me know if anyone gets this to work on a 64bit windows and how exactly you did it and some basic system specs to go along with them. Glad to see peeps are still seeding this!
